The game's only just been released after a moderate amount of time in Early Access, and just a week later Larian already have a patch ready to go.
Two years after their successful Kickstarter campaign, Divinity series creators Larian Studios have finally released their epic new RPG - Divinity: Original Sin 2. It's excellent, you can check out gameplay of us playing it if you like, and even better Larian have kicked their bug-fixing up a gear so we should be seeing regular patches for the game, maybe even with new content too.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 is a co-op RPG with turn-based combat and a focus on the elements. Getting a character wet will make them resistant to fire but more vulnerable to electricity attacks, that type of thing. This even goes for stepping in a puddle - get a few enemies in there and you can zap them all. Divinity's also about total freedom to do what you want, from killing everyone in a village (and even killing their ghosts) or stealing everything that's not nailed down. Quests can all be accomplished many different ways, no character is essential except your own, and it's funny too. Regularly so. We highly recommend it.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 - Hotfix v3.0.159.021 (December 7)
Well, the big patch below came out and seemingly broke the game for a lot of people, so Larian are scrambling to undo the mess. This is probably the first in a series of Hotfixes. Larian say this is to address the most urgent problems, anyway, but expect more.
- Fixed an issue making items used via the hotbar cost an incorrect amount of AP
- Fixed a problem regarding destroyed visuals reappearing when loading a savegame from the previous patch
- Fixed context menu in GM character management panel
- Fixed a crash related to split-screen in character creation
- Fixed a visual problem related to split-screen when using the magic mirror

- Added a toggle in the options menu to automatically add certain groups of items or skills from the hotbar

Modding - Scripting (compatibility issues)
- Game modes (Story/GM/Arena) are now compatible. Mods can safely load both GM and Story data without causing issues such as disabled characters in a new Story game. All story goals are now parented under a respective Story/GM/Arena goal (DOS2ModWrapper/GMModWrapper/ArenaModWrapper). Existing mods will still work, but to make your mod compatible between game modes, make sure to parent any modded goals under the newly added root goals (DOS2ModWrapper/GMModWrapper/ArenaModWrapper).
- Added new GetStatusTurns query to story and script: returns the lifetime in turns of a given status on an object.
- Added new GetSurfaceSize query to story and script: returns the surface size in tiles of a surface at a given position.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 - Patch v3.0.146.559 (October 6)
The latest patch is up and it's utterly huge, clocking in at 4.3Gb and... well, just look at the changelog! It's massive! Changes include a load of content and bug fixes, such as reducing chicken running distances, improved Taunting, a dedicated Recipe button, and fixing a crash if you tried to sleep with a lizard again. Have a read.

- Spider legs now correctly prevent player from getting Webbed

Multi-language support has the Chinese wanting their own localisation even more, plus there's a few changes to the ending movies and removes a Runeslot change that was prematurely added through the last patch.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 - Week 1 Update
The game's only just been released after a moderate amount of time in Early Access, and just a week later Larian already have a patch ready to go. Let's have a look. We particularly like the one about stopping characters from being permanently wet.

Two years after their successful Kickstarter campaign, Divinity series creators Larian Studios have finally released their epic new RPG - Divinity: Original Sin 2. It's excellent, you can check out gameplay of us playing it if you like, and even better Larian have kicked their bug-fixing up a gear so we should be seeing regular patches for the game, maybe even with new content too.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 is a co-op RPG with turn-based combat and a focus on the elements. Getting a character wet will make them resistant to fire but more vulnerable to electricity attacks, that type of thing. This even goes for stepping in a puddle - get a few enemies in there and you can zap them all. Divinity's also about total freedom to do what you want, from killing everyone in a village (and even killing their ghosts) or stealing everything that's not nailed down. Quests can all be accomplished many different ways, no character is essential except your own, and it's funny too. Regularly so. We highly recommend it.

Well, the big patch below came out and seemingly broke the game for a lot of people, so Larian are scrambling to undo the mess. This is probably the first in a series of Hotfixes. Larian say this is to address the most urgent problems, anyway, but expect more.
- Fixed an issue making items used via the hotbar cost an incorrect amount of AP
- Fixed a problem regarding destroyed visuals reappearing when loading a savegame from the previous patch

Modding - Scripting (compatibility issues)
- Game modes (Story/GM/Arena) are now compatible. Mods can safely load both GM and Story data without causing issues such as disabled characters in a new Story game. All story goals are now parented under a respective Story/GM/Arena goal (DOS2ModWrapper/GMModWrapper/ArenaModWrapper). Existing mods will still work, but to make your mod compatible between game modes, make sure to parent any modded goals under the newly added root goals (DOS2ModWrapper/GMModWrapper/ArenaModWrapper).
- Added new GetStatusTurns query to story and script: returns the lifetime in turns of a given status on an object.
- Added new GetSurfaceSize query to story and script: returns the surface size in tiles of a surface at a given position.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 - Patch v3.0.146.559 (October 6)
The latest patch is up and it's utterly huge, clocking in at 4.3Gb and... well, just look at the changelog! It's massive! Changes include a load of content and bug fixes, such as reducing chicken running distances, improved Taunting, a dedicated Recipe button, and fixing a crash if you tried to sleep with a lizard again. - Overview map. Level popup of existing scenes now closes if GM deletes all scenes.
